To Test You To Test You
She may lie to you to test you. She may cook up a story about a past relationship to see how you react to it, so in future she knows what to tell you and what not to. She might tell you that she is going out for dinner with an ex-boyfriend to see if you get jealous, mad or try to stop her. If you react the way she expected, she may not tell you such things ever again.
To Influence You
A woman might lie to manipulate you; to steer your thoughts and feelings to the way she wants you to. She might lie to get her way.
To Hide Her Past From You
A woman may lie to hide her past from you. It could be any number of reasons: she’s embarrassed of her past, or is worried that you might be judgmental.
To Keep You Away From Worries
If some co-worker has been hitting on her and she thinks she can handle it, she might not tell you about it because she doesn’t wish to worry you. She thinks she is capable of doing the right thing and there is no need to involve you, at least at the moment.
To Save Herself
Maybe she is lying because she doesn’t trust you yet and that she is worried if she tells you something personal, you might use that against her. She doesn’t like to feel vulnerable in front of you. Maybe she isn’t ready to let her guard down yet.
To Please Herself
She is lying to please herself, trying to project an image of herself that is not entirely true. She might exaggerate about her achievements or success. This kind of lie is often told to boost one’s own self-esteem. But can also mean that she is insecure.
To Protect You
She is trying to protect your feelings by lying. For example, your breath might be bothering her, but she won’t tell you about it because she feels you might feel hurt if it came from her.
Most women are guilty of lying. But in a relationship, we are forced to lie sometimes in order to keep it going. For example, it is okay for women to keep their sexual escapades to themselves in order to safe-guard their partner’s feelings. Hence, any white lie that does more good than bad is okay.
